MDM Relocating to Morocco
1 تعليقات.
Returning to live, invest and work in Morocco is a desire for many Moroccans abroad. Morocco can benefit from their experience and expertise. To make the relocation a success for both parties the first year of transition is key. Otherwise after a few months there is a temptation to just drop everything and go back to where the MDM (Marocain du Monde) came from. Some reasons for difficulties in settling in Morocco are well known:
- Culture shock (even if one is Moroccan) as after many years abroad one gets the habits and culture of their settling country.
- Business practices: slow processes, heavy paper burden when dealing with local administrations and banks being shy on loans (they usually require strong guarantees)
- Lack of capital investissement
- Weak incentives
To mitigate some of these issues, I suggest helping in making the first year of transition a success:
- Help create an association/task force, dedicated group to foster and share experience of settling back in Morocco.
- Sharing experience, pitfalls between previous MDM that "made it" in their settling in Morocco and new ones or prospects is important
MDM are rooting for their country of origin, one way to make their reintegration a success for them and for Morocco is to help them in their first year of relocation to Morocco.
